Gas gauge stuck on FULL and tank should be empty.
I have a 1987 Ford F250 inline six 4.9 engine. I have two tanks and one take is showing full and it should be almost empty. It has 225 miles on it and it is FULL. Any suggestions.
Is it actually reading full or has the needle gone past the full mark and resting on the stop if it has one?
It has gone past the full mark but there is no stop. The other tank is working fine. The gauge is near empty where it is suppose to be.
That is indicating an open circuit for that sender circuit, it could be the sender itself or the switching valve not fully switching over to that tank, i have seen this happen.
