Just replaced the 5.0 on my F-150. Now I have erratic idle and it feels/smells like it's flooding but it's EFI.Check eng light and rear antilock light I never had before. Suspect timing? Not sure

1988 fuel injected Ford F-150 5.0 liter
with air injection. Hard starts and
delayed throttle response. Verified
timing and re checked vacuum lines.
Out of ideas. Please advise.

Check the fuel pressure regulator as well as the vacuum and vapor lines for the EVAP system. If you have a vacuum hose routing diagram double check those vacuum lines first. Since you're smelling gas that'd be where I'd look first. HTH. -Jim
