I have a 1987 F-150 5.0 306 when it is 78f or cooler it runs fine as the day gets hotter it will run for a while then dies it has to sit for 10min. before it will starts. Then will die agine . HELP

My f-150 1987 is weird it runs great when it is nice and cool weather but as the day gets
hotter it will die she has to sit for about 10 to 15min. before it will start agine run for a mile
or two then dies out. I need help please. new fuel filter have good pressure. what next

Don't know if it concerns an 87, but I had a hopped up grand torino sport back in the middle 70's that would do the same thing. It was the power pack attached to the fender well on the driver's side. The way I discovered it was a mechanic said to place a jug of water in the trunk. When it stopped pour the cool water slowly over the back to cool it off. If it restarted, replace the pack. Well, that did it. unfortunately the pack cost 80 bucks back then. Check and see if you have one, a little smaller and shapped like a cigar box, about 1/2 as thick.
