what's the problem

Asked by Jun 12, 2014 at 03:08 PM about the 1985 Ford F-150 STD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 1985 ford f-150, it started jurking when you drive and sometimes spitting and
spudders,I have double tanks, i changed the fuel transfer pump on the frame and the fuel
pump in the front tank, I also changed the fuel filter, I have never used the rear tank but
the fuel pump works. I took the plug off the EGR and let the truck run no change. I have
not found a vaccum leak, could it be the plug wires or distributer.

When was it's last good tune up? It could need cap rotor ignition wires, ignition coil, spark plugs. Have you checked or replaced the TFI module and distributor pickup?
