I have a 1985 Ford F150 4x4 with a 300 inline straight 6 in it. It will not go over 25 mph. It also has a hissing noise coming out of the tail pipe. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong with it?????
you may have backed into something and kinked the exhaust pipe restricting flow, what goes in must go out and over 25 mph you would be surprised the volume of air needing to flow thru
A plugged Catalytic Converter is very likely too. Unbolt the exhaust right after the Exhaust manifold and give it a try. It's noisy. Most Muffler shops are willing to check it out too. It's simple and quick for them.
see thats what we have been thinking we haven't had this truck but a month and we just can't seem to get it running right. Thanks we will be taking it apart today
we fixed it the Muffler was messed up and full of stuff thanks so much ya'll
Great! Enjoy your truck!
