bad gas mileage

I have a 1984 for 150 inline 6. I. Getting about 10 to
11 mpg. Does anyone know why? I know it's a v6
so it can't be needing to drink that much. I'll go thru
14 gallons in 3 days just commuting to work and
back

Rebuilt motor? Something out of a donor vehicle?
