Theft deterrent system

Asked by Oct 24, 2015 at 05:47 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Chevy Cruze wouldn't shift into park last night and the key won't
come out. This morning battery was dead, so now it's fully charged but the
car won't start, I get a messaged that says service theft deterrent system. Is
there any way I can get the theft system alert off , so I can start car to bring to
dealership.

Ok there should be and over ride to the shifter lock, may look like one of these, you are going to have to get it to release and go in to park before you can reset the system as i said above

Your new car warranty will cover the tow charge. Call your local Chevy Dealer and let them fix it for free. HTH. -Jim

No, anaerobic yet. Very recently new bathere was place in my 2013 Cruze. Maybe, that triggered this message in the dash, you think?
