2003 mustang stays running after I remove key the starter also stayed engaged removed positive cable to shut it off when I put the cable back on started engaged and tried crank any idea's ?

leave that cable off. you will fry your starter if it goes whipping around engaged to the engine after the engine is running..you need a tow to a shop
