I have a 88 chevy cavalier z24 coupe and I can't Find the temp sensor so I was gonna wire it to the ignition what are thought about that

Don't!! The sensor is a variable resistor to ground. You'll either fry the gauge on the dash or the ECM (Computer), or both. The temp sensor should be near the thermostat housing. HTH. -Jim
