does a bottom fan shroud on a 1989 chevy caprice help the a.c. blow cold

my 1989  caprice a.c. Blows cold when i first crank it and let it warm up but once i start
driving it starts blowing warm is this because my bottom fan shroud is missing?

It doesn't help, you have lost the venturi effect the fan sets up when t draws air in. You need to have the A/C system pressures checked, I think that the high pressure goes too high while driving and the high pressure cutoff kicks in and shuts the A/C down. Something you can do yourself is make sure the air ways are clear through the A/C condenser and the radiator. If you don't replace the shroud you might have to put on an auxiliary cooling fan just for the A/C.
