More than likely is a lifter rattling, Sparks don,t rattle but lifters do : )

Could be. You'll first need to set the base ignition timing. If you're "power tuning" it you may advance the base ignition timing up to 4°. With the performance items that you mentioned plus power tuning you definitely need to be running premium gas as well. Most often denotation, as it's properly called, is caused by using fuel that is too low in octane. I'd recommend 93 or higher. HTH. -Jim
