I have a 1985 Cadillac Seville.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1985 Cadillac Seville.  I brought it to a garage to remove and
replace the engine after I have it rebuilt.  Problem is when I sent out the
engine to be rebuilt I learned after calling at the expected delivery time
frame that the shop went BK!  About 6 months had expired by now.  I was
able to find a second shop willing to do the work but with his current
workload it took 10 more months co complete.  THEN, because it took so
long to complete, the chief mechanic who removed the engine had moved
on and the garage declined to reinstall the engine.  So now the car, the
parts and the engine are at my workshop.  Here;s the issue since I didn't
take it apart I'm struggling with putting it back together.  The usual GM
Seville, Chilton and Hayes books assume a lot on the removal and the
replacement.  Especially that the same person will do all the work.  Can you
please advide me on finding a very detailed R&R procedure with plenty of
exploded view drawings and/or photos?  I certainly appreciate any and all
help!   Sam

A factory shop manual would be your best bet. If you can't find one on eBay try Faxon Auto Literature in Riverside, California. They have a website. I've bought from them in the past. Good quality stuff and reasonable prices. HTH. -Jim
