What month and year did Ford start making the Fastback?

It is my understanding that Ford did not start factory line production on the Fastback until the spring of 1965 in San Jose,CA.
Is this true? When did they first start making the car?

Ford started production on the Mustang fastback at the beginning of 1965. Carroll Shelby designed a modified version of the fastback, called the GT-350, and it was these that were produced in San Jose. They first appeared on January 27, 1965.

The fastback,debutted,on september 25,1964-not a 64 1/2,by any means..Carrol Shelby,started building the GT-350,in January,1965...and,the rest-is elegant history...
