How to test turn signal switch on 1987 Cadillac Brougham 5.0 L ?

The turn signal switch does not work - I changed all the bulbs, the flasher and the fuse; before to change the turn signal switch I would like to test it (I may have a good switch and a ground or something somewhere).

If you can access the wires coming from the switch and have a multi meter you can check for continuity when the switch is turned right or left.
