I recently had the glo plugs replaced in my 5 cylinder diesel and still is hard to
start and large cloud of smoke occurs when finally starts.

If it is white smoke from a diesel it can be a couple of things, one is the glow system is not functioning as it should the other is air in the fuel system. When it does finall start does it run rough for a few seconds?

Aloha Tennisshoes. It doesn't take long for it to run like a new one. There might be a little hesitation until it gets fully started, but after the smoke clears, she runs great. The glo plugs were just replaced. Is there a relay or something that might be hampering their operation fully?

I would check to see if there is voltage to the glow plugs on a cold engine first, if no power then on to the relay and the glow heat control unit.
