It was not that expensive 5 to 10 yrs ago, why now?
I just walked away, came back and asked him to put it in writing.  "What do they make the brake pads out of now, Gold?"   I will also replace the front rotors & bearings as well. (just below, in this form, you do not offer my 1979 model, so I put 1981, your closest model.)  Thank You!   I am brand new to this site. I'll be glad to offer any other assistance to members as needed, if I know the answer.  Pete

http://www.mercedesautoworks.com/ mercedesworks%20mechanical%20123,126%20brake%20syste m.htm Take a look at the page above, the front pads are about 45 to 65 dollars depending on which brand you want. Hope it helps.
