Is the 2013 Mazda3 I SV a good reliable first car?
I have been shopping for my first car for over two months now and came across the 2013
Mazda3 I SV. It is a four door sedan with a 2.0L I4 DI engine. The car currently has a little
over 36,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. They are selling it to me for
$13,500 before taxes. First of all is this a good price for this car? Ive done a lot of research
online with use of Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds and everything checks out but I am still
nervous about making such a large purchase. Also are Mazda's known for being reliable
and cost effective cars? Is maintenance on Mazda3 expensive compared to other cars in
If you checked kbb and edmunds already, those are good sources on prices. Mazda3's are decent cars and not a lot to maintain. Seems you did your homework already, so get out and test drive a few to see which one your really like. For piece of mind, have a mechanic look your car over before purchase, most dealers will let you do this. It's a small fee but worth it in the end, especially if they find some hidden damage.
