What is the largest 16" wheel tire combination I can run on the front and rear of a 1987 911 without modifications to the body?

Question type: General

Trying to find/figure out the biggest tire I can fit on 1987 Carrera (NOT TURBO) if I go to 16" Fuchs. I had 245/50/15 on rear and they looked great but NO ONE makes that tire size any more.

Here's a tire size calculator. Put in the size you have on the left side and the size that is available on the right. It will tell you what size is close. To find out what size fits in the wheel well, check with other owners at a Porsche forum.

225

If you are presently running 16" Fuchs that were stock with the car, they would be 6" front and 7" rear. Your car can handle 7's in front and 8's in the rear....As for tires, 205's up front are best for most street driving, and the 225's in the rear can be increased to 245's if you can find them. I would advise against running 225's up front, as they tend to steer like a truck, and unless you are racing or AXing, are not worth it.
