have a 2003 ford escape  v6...bad trans..have a 2005 escape 4wd wrecked body..will trans
interchange

The 2005 changed several items on the transmission, so that they will not interchange. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) controls more of the transmission functions on a 2005 than on the 2003. The model year change was 2005. So, 2001 to 2004 interchange, 2005 doesn't.
