Swapping front differentials

I have a 1987 Ford Bronco with an inline 6 300 & manual transmission.  I bought a parts truck that is a 1987 Bronco with a 351W and automatic transmission.  Can I swap them out or is the gear ratio so different that it won't work?

As far as the physical difference there isn't any, but you need to find the ident tag that should be between 2 bolts on the front pumpkin it should have the ratio stamped in it, both diffs will have this tag, it will read like 3.53 or 3.04 something like that so the ratios have to match. sometimes Automatic trans units will have a higher ratio so you really need to check unless you want to change out the rear end too.
