I have a 1989 southern Calif. 1 ton long bed with the 3vze engine, auto trans and no extras. Total original miles: 103k. I drive it 20 miles p/year max. The body is rusting out around the windshield and behind front wheels. It runs like a sewing machine but it is U G L Y! I'd like to find a clean & straight one with a blown engine and do the transplant thing. Is this a good idea, bad idea or should I just break down and buy an AM DB9 Vanquish for a little more money and enjoy the new car warranty?

This is totally up to you and what you would like to do, either or. I myself would opt to do a transplant with your engine & transmission, and also buy the vehicle your looking at. Then if you wanted, you could sell the transplant vehicle for more money than just getting rid of the old vehicle, if you wanted.

vehicles do not rust down by you...would see if the interior is okay would run with the "rusted" one....would have to see how terrible...but if it's straight, and interior clean would work with that one~ 1989 was a good year...good luck on that replacement truck~
