Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have 1988 Toyota pickup with the r22 engine, just
put a new battery and alternater in it, it ran good
for a week then got in it and nothing, it buzzes
before the the start position all lights come on..go
to turn it over no clicking or anything..i checked all
fuses are good, battery is good. Don't know if it's

You may have bad battery connections. Make sure to clean and tighten them.

I have a1988 Toyota pickup and like the other answer make sure battery connections are tight especially the one where the starter wire is hooked directly to the positive terminal. The nut will get loose and the starter won't do anything . May not be in your case as some are a little different. Like to have drove me nuts until I found the problem. Hope this helps as I can't thin of anything else.

88...eh, have put a new timing chain in...these need to be changed every so often...a miracle when one can last 100,000 miles without service...these timing chains drive the oil pump and the distributor...so unreliable spark and oil pressure just might be the result....get it serviced, with new chain and sprockets, presser foot, new headgasket and pony up...you will be happy once it's done, and have restored reliability for this ole gal~
