Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1986 toyota pickup and would like to know why all
my lights shut off as soon as I turn my ignition switch on?
Also if I remove the 20 amp fuse for the turn signals
everything comes back on except for turn signals and the
charging system of course. Thanks!

yes, well clearly this is a grounding issue...because it is an '86 you are bound to have some corrosion on the main connections off the battery...of course one to the engine at the mounting brackets...and the other going to the chassis/ground/fender...and of course the red wire to the solenoid~ use a wirebrush if necessary to establish a solid connection~
