Question type: General

I can spin distributor fast enough to make it work
out of the motor but the motor is to slow to make it
spark? Tried a jump and rotor does spin.

This could be a wiring problem, too much resistance in the wiring from the pickup inside the distrubutor too the ignition module, or a weak pulse from the pickup coil, you would need a lab scope to check that, I would also check the ignition coil output, the system should spark no matter what the cranking RPM's are.

As fas as converting to GM type ignition it would still need the existing pickup coil in the distributor to operate properly, but yes it does work if you follow the instructions properly and make sure the module has a good heat sink and is grounded properly or it will start burning out ignition modules.

Everything seems perfect heat sink aan ground does the spark plug wires need changed and plugs gapped just to see it work? I have it popping once in a few cranks.

Only if they are bad, if it working properly it should be throwing a bright blue spark out of the ignition coil during cranking, then check the coil to distributor wire, it should do the same spark as well as all the plug wires. Don't make yourself a ground path or you find out what a tazer feels like.
