My car is a 1981 toyota corolla 1.8...does it have a standard crankshaft or is it cut??
Drop Forged and the journals machined
standard crankshaft. Why are you asking this? not normally a customer concern.
I wondered about the 'why' also Bob and in '81 there were 2 engines available the 3T-C — 1.8 L (1,770 cc) I4, 8-valve Pushrod, carb, 75 hp 4A-C — 1.6 L (1,587 cc) I4, 8-valve SOHC, carb, 90 hp. looked up the engine specs for those and came up with that answer, not even sure what 'cut' means unless she wondered if it was machined from a solid block of steel like a billet
Dave, wow that makes sense....kinda. Physically these both take up the same space, but now 'cut' makes sense. Have a machinist spend all day at his mill-...got it....oof think I passed up our good buddy llregal now....it wasn't my fault man...
