Can I fix my a c on my 1997 Nissan pickup my clutch barely turns and squeeks

I suspect that the squeak is a bad throw out bearing.

The most common failure is the A/C clutch hub bearing going bad, so you need to determine if it is just the clutch assembly or the compressor itself, if it is just the clutch assembly that can replaced separately from the compressor, if it is the compressor that is bad then it get expensive, you will have to open the system up, remove the orface tube and dryer flush the entire system, install a new orface tube and dryer, then replace your complete A/C compressor, then have the system recharged with the proper amount of oil and 134A.
