One of the most common problems on the first-generation 300ZXs is the digital dash power supply unit. The part is like an electronic module, located under the dash on the driver's side. The internal cold solder joints wear out, leading to failure of the power supply, and therefore no digital dash lights. It is quite possible to re-solder those joints yourself and get it working again. Another option is to search the web. Look up 300ZX digital dash power supply, and you'll find people selling them reconditioned. Others offer the service of refurbishing your old unit if you send it in. If the power supply isn't the problem, then it could be the digital cluster itself. But more than likely, it's the power supply unit.

Also the printed circuit boards flex from hot and cold killing sections of the display. Usually temp oil and volts die first and spreads to the rest of the display. The good news is Bba remanufacturing repairs speedo head and supply. Repair is 283.00 plus shipping.
