How to install vg33 in 1986 300z

Asked by Jan 10, 2016 at 10:58 PM about the 1986 Nissan 300ZX 2 Dr STD

Question type: Car Customization

I've got a vg30 Block with a vg33 crank shaft in it I
don't know why that's how it showed up from
Foreign Engines Inc. My son and I have it swapped
into a 1986 300z . Now the problem is  we need to
keep 1986 components ,alt.power steer , water
pump . etc. Everything seamed fine until harmonic
balance from 1986 motor vg30 is .95 " bore and
new vg30 Block with vg33 crank is 1.26" bore .
What can we do without changing wiring harness
or tearing down and trying to find vg30crank . to
much time and $ in already . Please help

Does anyone know of a custom harmonic balance maker ?

If you mean the bore hole is more than ½" too big on the h/b you will have to try to find a bushing to fit, ot as you say, replace crank. But be careful before you start laying out $$ for a crank, not to mention your time and effort, the crankshafts may not me the same. The total displacment of engine may have a different stroke= different crank and piston rods won't fit
