2013 Cruze Infocenter keeps blowing fuses

Asked by Sep 09, 2016 at 09:08 AM about the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze 2LT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday I started my 2013 Chevy Cruze and noticed that the touch-screen info-center didn't turn on. it was completely turned off. The radio (music) turned on with the ignition, but I could not change the station or the volume... or even turn it off. Obviously the backup camera and navigation features were also not available since the screen would not turn on.

I checked the fuse on the info-center and noticed that it was blown. Excited that I thought I found a simple fix, I replaced the fuse with a new one. However, when I started up the car, the problem persisted. I checked the new fuse again, and this time it was blown too.

Any suggestions?

More than likely somewhere there is a chafe in the wire or a short somewhere I would pull the fuse so their isnt a connection to be made make sure it isnt connected to anything else like your horn or lights. Somewhere it is probably grounding out on something causes the fuse to blow. ( I doubt it is, just to be safe I would check) If you are not good with wiring I would take it to the dealer and have them look at it. If you are good with wiring I would unhook your battery and pull the fuse and try to check the wires for a chafe ( rub in the wire that exposes the inside).

Usually when a fuse is blown there is an underlying problem. I would take this one to the dealership as something is likely shorted electrically.

did you find out what was causing this issue im having the same thing happen. trying to fix it my self if i can replace the fuse but it just blows instantly
