Passenger Airbag Sensor Malfunction

Asked by Jan 29, 2017 at 08:37 PM about the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Passenger airbag ON/OFF light goes on and off randomly and Chevy
dealership is saying that this isn't a known problem by Chevrolet despite all of
the comments from other people that say they have faced the same faulty
sensor issue. Does anyone know why GM is saying that this is a random issue?

There's a weight sensor in the seat cushion. Sounds like it's bad. Or if something got spilled on the seat that will cause problems until it drys out. HTH. -Jim
