Question type: Maintenance & Repair

on my 97 dodge dakota v6 3.9 check engine came on went to autozone to have them
scan fr codes it came back bad crankshaft sensor, the next day i barely made it home
when i got to the freeway i hit the gas to accelerate and it sputtered constantly and did
not want to go, almost like when you run out of gas, later i tried it, it was alright and
can be driven very short distance. does this sound like the crankshaft sensor??? i dont
want to repair the wrong thing.  thankns so much.  tanya5676@live.com

just because the code said the crank sensor is bad it could be the wiring or the pcm, because you say it runs good cold the crank sensor is cheaper than the pcm or to diag the wiring, I would replace the sensor.

Pcm has three plugs one of them isn't getting a good connection mine did the same thing I used zip ties
