Airconditioner pump kicks on for 10
seconds then it kicks off. Air is not
cold and it won't take Freon. What's
the problem?

Sounds like you have a clogged orifice tube filter the filter is in the high side line of the A.C system this is the small line. You will need a special tool to disconnect the line and the filter is inside of the line.

That's a great suggestion firebird. Any other possible answers that I can try?

Another guess is you have such a huge leak that the refrigerant is leaking faster than your putting in. You tried the cans, so time to have a local shop check for leaks and put the correct amount of refrigerant in your system. You need special pressure gauges to determine the exact cause.
