Is it just the speedometer acting up, or is the car acting like it wants to die when it does this?

yes it acts like it might die out but just for a second.

It could have something to do with the battery, have you replaced the battery in a while?

Yes, I just bought a new battery, and put a new fuel pump. had the solonoyd check. I really don't know what else to check. It will dye out on me once and while but starts back up,but when the speedometer goes down right quick as if I stepped off the gas for a second it makes me nerves.

Did you ever figure out what it was?
