What causes a car to shut down completely while driving or idling at a traffic light? When I take my car into a dealership what should I ask the mechanic to look at specifically?

Asked by Oct 28, 2015 at 08:58 AM about the 2013 Toyota Corolla L

Question type: General

The engine, the lights, the sensors: everything went out without warning.
The only thing that did work was the emergency flashing lights that I turned
on immediately. After a few minutes the car did start up again. Has there
been any recent recalls with a similar problem? When I take my car into a
dealership what should I ask the mechanic to look at specifically?Thanking
you in advance,

Just an airbag recall, and very strange what happened to your car. The only thing the shop can do is scan the car for codes. http://www.ibtimes.com/toyota-recall-2013-automaker-recalls-752000-corolla-corolla-matrix-vehicles-airbag-defect-1048516
