2013 Corolla Stereo Harness
I recently bought a 2013 Corolla S, the stock stereo is the touchscreen 86140-02150
Panasonic unit, now I want to buy a new head unit online that looks seamless when
installed and has more functions. BUT when i contact the sellers they tell me their units
have different harness inputs and they are not compatible with my cables.
I can't afford to have someone install it for me and i need to DIY it all the way.
Can someone help me understand why the cables of a head unit that has been
designed for my car wouldn't be compatible with it? or is there a way to get around the
issue buy getting a converter or something? i don't want to cut the factory wires.
here's my stock dash:
here is my current head unit:
here's (an example of) the new head unit i want to buy:
how do i make sure the one i choose is compatible? aside form the year? i even contacted this seller (http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/Specific-Car- GPS/Toyota/GM5169.html) and they said it's not compatible, even though the website says 2007-2013 :(
The one you want to buy, the Ownice, is 2006-2011 Corolla. In 2012 - 2013 the Telematics are different. All wired different.
I don't see how 2007 -2013 are interchangeable at all. Toyota didn't pre-wire for bluetooth for example until 2013. So i wouldn't trust going by the year. The 9th generation doesn't have NEAR the capabilities as your 10th. Trust the seller. They want to sell it and are being honest by telling you it's not compatible. The web-site is more of an ad...
Like my 2006 Corolla is identical to 2007. Everything the same. So if it was good for 2007 it would be for 2006. See what I mean? Something is just not right with the information on the website
thank you so much for your time! but one last thing, then how to i go by finding the right one?
Mainly if it's compatible with JBL or not. I noticed that the Eonon is not. I think that's the real key
thanks a lot :)
