My 98 dodge durango: My battery keeps going low by the amp meter when I use the lights, heater OR radio. When I turn them off, it goes back up. If I don't let it run before I turn it off, it will need a jump to start. What's wrong with it???? Autozone SAID by their little machine that the alternator and batter are both good. HELP!!

They may have tested it without any accessories turned on, not showing a problem. You can check this yourself if you have a digital multi-meter. Set it to DC volts, put positive & neg. across the battery posts with the vehicle running with the lights on, heater on. Voltage should read at least 14V to 14.5V at an idle. Rev the motor up a little to see if you get this voltage. If not there is a problem with the alternator or regulator.
