Why is my fan by the motor not spinning on my 1986 nissan 300zx

I was driving my 300zx one day to school and it died and lost about a quart of oil. Now
when i try turning the engine the fan is not even moving so its not turning over? Does
anyone know what this may be.

Do you have electrical? Does it make one big click when you try to start it or a series of smaller clicks?


When I go to crank it it like makes like a loud buzzing sound everything is working on electrical.


So either the starter has sheared off the drive or flywheel teeth or the engine has seized. Have you tried to turn the engine by hand? Key off of course.


No i have not how do i do that i may try it and someone said it sounds like the flywheel.


The best way is get a socket that fits the big bolt in the vibration damper and a breaker bar possibly an extension and try moving the crankshaft.
