Wheel hop

Asked by Jul 11, 2014 at 10:22 AM about the 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have bad wheel hop problems with my 2013 5.7 hemi . It is stock and the best time I can get for 0-60 is 4.17. I have to pedal the dog out of it  to get that time. I also practiced a lot. I have never had the car over 75-80 mph and only have put 800 miles on it in 19 months. I have looked a the hop not kits for $500.00 dollars but I have heard that there are problems with them . I will go off warranty in a year I am installing a JLT cold air intake I just got it from UPS. I am going to install new pipes with an H pipe instead of x pipe as the H crossover develop more torque and HP. Any help or comments would be very helpful. I plan on doing it all myself and long term I am looking a putting in  a stroker kit and cam.  So I will put in 3 inch pipes and 60smmufflers . Mike

Don't forget to do the ECM mods too.

I am not sure how the ECM mods will help with wheel hop. It used to be simple in the past , put on a pair of traction bars and problem solved, with IWS, I think that the Hop Not product, may be the only answer. Thank you for your time Mike Johnson

the ECM mods will help with the engine mods, not the wheel hop.
