How do I get rid of the old security system in my Dodge Durango to put in my new security system

The previous owner to my 1999 Dodge
Durango committed suicide in her vehicle
and nobody wanted it and set at eight o
yard for almost 3 years they only gave me a
brass key and I don't have the $85 to buy a
finicky what do i do how do I get around it

Brass key? Is it an aftermarket security system or the factory one? You need a chipped key to start the truck. If you don't have the money to go to a locksmith or the dealer to get another key programmed for the car, then I suggest you save up some more money until you can. It's been sitting for 3 years, a couple more days or weeks won't matter. There are no shortcuts.
