How long does it take to get to lifters on a 1500 2013
Cylinder 3 misfire did the change of
spark plugs map sensor, new coils as
well,Mechanic says it takes 8 hours to
get to lifters is that true I don't think so it
is only one side of the motor
Depending on what is wrong with the lifter, it may need a camshaft and all new lifters. The cylinder heads need to come off to get to the lifters.
I think you mean valve covers Bob? Rocker arms and lifters can be accessed from the top. OP you don't mention what engine type, 4.7 or 5.7 hemi, but both seem to have lifter issues. Check out Ramforumz.com for all the lifter related posts.
No I mean cylinder heads. The heads on a 5.7 hemi need to be removed to get the lifters out.
You can see in the video that the lifters are under the intake side of the cylinder head and there is no way to access them by just removing the top of the engine and the pushrods. It is a pretty big job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEvVSp1yvoA
I’ve been a tech for 40 yrs you have to remove the head chances are new cam and oil pump too watch for metal in oil pump
