1999 Dodge Dakota Cylinder 3 Misfire
Check enginge light came on and is reading cylinder 3 misfire, I've been noticing it a little bit the past
few days, but I dont know how to go about a process to eliminate the issue, any idea as to what should
be checked first and a few other ideas?
Check spark plug wire on cylinder #3 to see if it melted or not hooked up. Squirrels like chew injector wires too. Try some injector cleaner fuel additive. Put in a new spark plug.
Swap the plug and see if the misfire moves. Try some fuel injector cleaner.
change out the original wires as they are most assuredly like 14 years old now...while you have the swivel in hand, pull each of the plugs and note the condition, whether or not they are white, oily greasy or carboned, and measure the dry compression and leak down time...do a comparitive analysis between the cylinders and discover the health of your motor.
the brand new wires should mend your spark problem on No. 3~
