Most likely by running it out of gas you burned out the fuel pump. As the gasoline flows through the pump it keeps the pump cool and lubricated. HTH. -Jim

If the original key is a transponder key then the new key will have to be programmed to the car. Will it start by using the original key? HTH. -Jim

You're welcome. Glad to help. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the programing procedure on Chrysler Products. Your best bet would be to talk to your local Dodge Dealer. They'll be able to tell you. HTH. -Jim
