What sizes can i put onto my 1999 dodge avenger

I have a 99 dodge avenger and I am wondering what sizes I can put on it. Currently I
have 215/50 17
And what does each number represent (obviously 17 is height)

215 is width in mm. the 50 is the profile, aka aspect ratio, or % of width. That tire is sidewall height 50% of 215 and 17 is diameter at bead, goes on 17" wheel
