Transmission oil check

Question type: General

Should my 2013 impala ltz be on when
checking the transmission oil level when
impala is off it says full but when on its above
the min level line oh and the owners manual
does not say exactly how to check please help

You should always have it running when you check the tranny fluid because when it's off all the tranny fluid in the torque converter runs out and gives you an inaccurate reading because when it starts back up it's going to fill back up and it won't have enough to reach the pump that's why you check it when it's running
