Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 1989 grand marquis and the is a short in one of the alternator wires. the green wire is the problem it doesn't hold any electrical current and is not recharging the battery If you put an electrical current directly it resumes to charge the batter. does anyone have a solution or a blue print for the wires so I could change them myself or have someone else do it. thank you for the help in advance.

Do a search for 89 Mercury grand marquis alternator wiring pictures, scroll to diagram 11 , it shows both 65 and 100 amp units. It shows 3 fuse links that powers those circuits.
