RECALL 162 HYUNDAY DEALERSHIP NOT PAYING FOR MY ENGINE REPLACEMENT

Asked by alexander415sf Jul 01, 2021 at 09:53 PM about the 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Hyundai sonata 2013 with 116,000 stop
running while I was driving I brought it to the
Hyundai dealership they said I have a recall for my
engine inspection possibly you needed to be
replaced it took them 4 days let me know that I
need an engine replacement they do not offer me
no loaner car they said to me that they cannot give
me a loaner for a car because they haven't done a
diagnostic and if I want a diagnostic to be done
that I would need to pay $225 after 4 days they
finally did a diagnostic and said that my engine
bearing broke off cause the engine to seized and
that I would need my engine to be replaced. but
that the warranty don't cover it. I asked why and
they said because my car had no oil and that the
oil that it had was not the right kind of oil. They
won't do any repairs and if I want my Vehicle back I
have to pay 225$ for the diagnostic.  Any
suggestions on how to handle this situation?  Is
been 2 weeks and my car is sitting at SAN
LEANDRO CA HYUNDAY/NISSAN DEALERSHIP
SERVICE..

If you let it run out of oil it is your fault. Recalls and warranty do not cover lack of maintenance.

How to handle this? Buy another car and learn how to check the oil level.

Oh the nerve that some people have, Wanting something for nothing. Had a guy in the dealership yesterday that had a rock chip in his windshield and wanted it replaced under warranty. He even told me he met a truck on the highway and the truck kicked up a rock. Man, you can't make this crap up!

Let them keep the car. It is not worth spending $225 to get it back.

Drop the title off to the Dealer and tell them to have a nice day. They can get their $225 back when they scrap it. In the future check your fluid levels regularly and use the fluids specified in the owner's manual. If you don't have the owner's manual visit your local auto parts store or Dealer service department and ask them what kind of oil and other fluids are recommended for your vehicle. Hope that helps!
