why do dealers show one price on cars and when you are about to buy . They give you a maintenece charge and a delivery charge on top of the listed price.

Asked by Jan 17, 2016 at 01:15 PM about the 2013 BMW X5 xDrive35i

Question type: General

I saw a BMW X5 2013 on BM motor sales in Rahway NJ for , $ 24800 .
after speaking with the sales man Edward H . They said an additional $2983.00 for a dealer surcharge and $489.00 for the truck delivery of the car. This car wasn't ordered , it was on the premises . that puts the car sale of $28,233.00 plus the 7% tax $ an additional 1,976.31. for a total of $ 30,209.31. Well this isn't what they advertise as. tey are charging $5409.31 additional to the 24,800.

I have never heard of these fees on a used car. I would tell them no and walk if they insist. Be sure the total cost is at or below dealer price per the Kelly Bluebook. The tax is fair the other is a rip off.

Some dealers try to get you pay more with fees and other unnecessary services and warranties, and some people do pay them. I'm glad you know better, so find another dealership to work with like F_O_R said.
