I have an 01Dodge Stratus. Last week I had transmission fluid in the car. today when I was at a stop and went to accelerate the car shuddered and hesitated before going into gear.

I continued to drive on to a safe place but as I
accelerated at a stoplight it continued to
happen. The check engine light came on. And
when I checked there was no fluid. Can you tell
me what's wrong with the car?

Look for a large amount of red fluid on the underside of the car, check the coolant for a pink color. If either of these are present have it towed to a reputable trans shop. It sounds like it blew a trans line or the cooler in the radiator. that is unless a large curb and the car met recently.
