2001 dodge durango 4.7 V8, Have to turn
the key over an hold it for it to finally fire.
Idle revs up by itself an goes back to
normal. Runs for a little then it'll shut off. I
can drive it but when i put it in park it shuts
off.. Idling still jumping some but I can't
figure out the reeving as well. I've replaced
Coilpacks, Sparkplugs, Throttle Position
Sensor, and CrankShaft Position Sensor..
My personal truck and the only one I Can't
figure out what's going on. does anyone
know of a possible solution to this
Sounds like it might be leaning out, is there a check engine light on? If so have the codes pulled at someplace that does this, auto zone will do it for free. If no check engine light then you may need to have the system live data checked so the tech can see what the sensors and reading and what the computer is doing with those readings, who knows it might just be a sensor or computer ground.
Check engine light has been on I have scan tools An have run the codes still the same codes it was before that I have replaced I can't drive it enough to reset the computer on it
It's an 01 so you can do a hard reset and then try a drive cycle.
The hard reset is it just unhooking the battery terminals An turning the key for 30 sec or is there more to it?
Right thats all there is too it.
Alright I appreciate it very much see what I can find out
Can anybody help me I have a 01 Dodge Durango three cord come up I changed everything that came up and it's still saying they bad
So then next you need to check the wiring from the ECM to the sensors and the sensors ground, if everything ohms out correctly then you will need a new ECM and ha e it flashed to match the vehicle, and that can only be done at the dealer. So don’t rush through this, make sure the wiring is 100%, don’t jump to conclusions.
