When should you flush and replace transmission fluids

My Sorento has 47k miles and we're being told it should have a transmission flush and fluid replacement - any merit to this?

Refer to the owner's manual. It will tell you what the suggested service intervals are. I like to change my transmission fluid at 30,000 miles.
